5 Creative Things to Do with Kids’ Artwork

With three kids I have had my share of kids’ artwork to find something to do with. I admit, more often than not, it gets discreetly put into the recycling bin.

However, here I’ve compiled a list of creative things to do with your kids’ art that will not only keep your home clutter-free but also showcase their creativity in a meaningful way.

It’s wonderful that you want to preserve your kids’ art while also finding creative ways to manage the clutter. Here are five creative ideas for what you can do with your kids’ art:

Create a Digital Portfolio

Photograph or scan the artwork and create a digital portfolio for each child. You can organize it chronologically or by themes. This way, you’ll have a digital record of their artistic journey without the physical clutter.

Customized Art Books

Select the best pieces of art from each year and create custom art books. There are many online services that allow you to design and print personalized photo books. This way, you can have a coffee table book showcasing their artistic progression.

Art Collage or Mosaic

If you have a lot of small pieces of art, consider making a collage or mosaic using the individual pieces. This can be a fun project to do with your kids and a unique way to display their creations as cohesive artwork.

Rotating Gallery Wall

Designate a wall in your home as a rotating art gallery. Frame a few of your kids’ favorite pieces and switch them out regularly. This keeps the art fresh and ensures it gets the attention it deserves.

Personalized Gifts

Use your kids’ art to create personalized gifts for family and friends. You can turn their artwork into custom greeting cards, or wrapping paper, or even have it printed on items like mugs, pillows, or tote bags. This way, the art serves a dual purpose and makes thoughtful presents.

Remember, the key is not to keep every single piece of artwork but to curate and preserve the most meaningful and representative pieces. This will help you reduce clutter while still cherishing your children’s creativity.
