Why Escape Rooms Work So Well in the Classroom
Escape rooms aren’t just trendy — they’re powerful learning tools disguised as pure fun. Here’s why you’ll love bringing this one into your room:
- Teamwork & Communication: Students work together to crack codes and solve puzzles. It’s a natural way to build classroom community and foster positive peer interactions.
- Movement & Engagement: Whether you use the printable version or the digital Google Form, escape rooms get students up, moving, thinking, and talking — no passive seat work here!
- Sneaky Literacy Review: This escape room reinforces key literacy skills like vowel teams, ABC order, and word scrambles in a playful, low-pressure environment.
- End-of-Year Energy Control: When students are wiggly and ready for summer, an escape room channels that excitement into productive, meaningful fun.

Printing and Paper Recommendations
To get the best results when using the Lemonade Stand Escape Room, I recommend printing the case cards, word pieces, and puzzle pieces on sturdy, high-quality paper. For durability, especially if you’re using the escape room in centers or for repeated use, consider premium cardstock. This type of paper ensures that the cards will hold up over time, and the writing pages are crisp and easy to write on.
For an added touch of durability, laminating the case cards, word pieces, and puzzle pieces is also a great option, making them last even longer for classroom or homeschool use. This way, students can use them over and over again, with minimal wear and tear! The scotch laminator is amazing! I have been using mine for many, many years.
